Komodo Island




Komodo Island is an island located in the Nusa Tenggara islands. Komodo Island is known as a habitat for native animals dragons. The island is also the Komodo National Park which is managed by the Central Government. Komodo Island is located east of the island of Sumbawa, separated by Sape Strait.

Administratively, the island including the District of Komodo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Komodo Island is the westernmost province of East Nusa Tenggara, bordering the province of West Nusa Tenggara.


On the island of Komodo dragons animals live and breed well. Until August 2009, on the island there are about 1,300 dragons tail. Coupled with other islands, such as Island and Rinca and Gili Mota, their numbers totaled about 2500 tails. There are also approximately 100 individuals dragons in Wae Wuul Nature Reserve on the mainland island of Flores, but not including the Komodo National Park.


Besides Komodo, this island also store a variety of exotic flora Sepang wood by local people used as medicine and dye clothes, this nitak tree or sterculia oblongata in the believe is useful as medicines and seeds are tasty and delicious like peas. Komodo Island is also accepted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to the Komodo National Park, along with the island of Rinca, Padar and Gili Mota.


History
In 1910 the Dutch named the island on the south side of East Nusa Tenggara Province is the nickname of the island of Komodo. This story begins with Lieutenant Steyn van Hens Broek who tries to prove statements about the presence of Dutch troops large animal resembling a dragon on the island. Steyn then killed a dragon and bring documentation to the Museum and Botanical Garden in Bogor to be investigated.

In 2009, the Park has been named a finalist "New Seven Wonders of Nature" newly published in 2010 by online voting at www.N7W.com.  dated 11 November 2011, the New 7 Wonders has announced the provisional winners and National Parks Komodo entered into the ranks of the winners, together with, the Amazon Rainforest, Halong Bay, Iguazu Falls, Jeju Island, Puerto Princesa Underground River, and Table Mountain. Komodo National Park is getting the most votes.

Indonesia



Republic of Indonesia abbreviated RI or Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia, which is crossed by the equator and located between the continents of Asia and Australia and between the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago consisting of 13,487 islands, therefore it is also called Nusantara ("outer islands", in addition to Java, which is considered the center).

With a population of 222 million people in 2006, Indonesia is the fourth most populous nation in the world and the most populous Muslim country in the world, although it is not officially an Islamic state. Indonesia is a republic form of government, the House of Representatives, Regional Representatives Council and the president is elected directly. Jakarta is the country's capital. Indonesia borders Malaysia on Borneo island, with Papua New Guinea on the island of Papua and East Timor on the island of Timor. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the union territory Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India.

Indonesia's history is heavily influenced by other nations. The Indonesian archipelago became an important trade region since at least the 7th century, when the kingdom of Sriwijaya in Palembang religion and trade relations with China and India. Hindu kingdoms and Buddhism has grown in the early centuries AD, followed by the traders who brought Islam, and various European powers fought one another to monopolize the spice trade of Maluku during the era of ocean exploration. Once under Dutch rule, Indonesia which was then called the Dutch East Indies declared independence at the end of World War II. Furthermore, Indonesia has received a variety of obstacles, threats and challenges from natural disasters, corruption, separatism, a democratization process, and periods of rapid economic change.

From Sabang to Merauke, Indonesia consists of distinct ethnic, linguistic and religious groups. The Javanese are the largest ethnic group and most politically dominant. Indonesia's national motto, "Unity in Diversity", articulates the diversity that shapes the country. Besides having a dense population and vast territory, Indonesia has a natural area that supports the level of biodiversity in the world's second largest.

Indonesia is also a member of the United Nations and the only member to ever come out of the UN, namely on January 7, 1965, and rejoined on the 28th September 1966 and remained declared Indonesia's 60th member, the same membership since joining Indonesia on 28 September 1950. In addition to the United Nations, Indonesia is also a member of the ASEAN, APEC, OIC, G-20 and will be a member of the OECD.

Philippines



The facts about Philippines is famous for hill paddy, which was introduced about 2,000 years ago by a tribe of Batad. Paddy plants are located on the hill slopes of Ifugao and located at an altitude of 5,000 feet above sea level. The extent of covering 4,000 square miles and is traditionally cultivated without the use of fertilizers. He was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural) in 1995.

In 1998 the Philippine economy, a mixture of agriculture, light industry, and supporting services; suffered a setback as a result of the Asian financial crisis and poor weather. Growth fell to 0.6% in 1998 from 5% in 1997, but returned to around 3% in 1999 and 4% in 2000. The government has promised to continue its economic reforms to help the Philippines setanding with the development of industrialized countries of East Asia. Large debt ("public debt" around 77% of GDP), inhibit economic situation improved. Allocation of funds for debt is higher than for the Department of Education and the military combined.

Strategies undertaken including improving infrastructure, overhauling the tax system to increase government revenue, as well as deregulation and privatization of the economy, and increasing trade integration in the region. Future prospects depend on the economic performance of the two major trading partners, the United States and Japan, and the administration is more reliable and consistent government policy.
